Hey Everybody, I'm Rich from Utah, USA. I was living on the Isle of Man in 1984 and wanted a new cassette tape player and saw the advertisements for the SONY Walkman WM-10. I couldn't find one and settled for a DUAL PCP-1. I finally bought a SONY Walkman WM-10 about 10 years ago on eBay. I retired about three years ago and since then I've just been pulled into tinkering with these and the SONY Walkman WM-20 in my spare time. I can't really explain my fascination with these, it's just there...! I look forward to learning from you!
Hi and welcome to the forum. You will find plenty of knowledgeable folk on here who share your passion for walkmans.
Hello Datsonguy, Welcome, glad to have you in our forum. Nice to hear from you, Rich, and it’s great to know one of my favorite YouTubers, BigClive, lives on the Isle of Man. I also love all things Sony and collect and restore everything from Sony TVs to Walkmans and Discmans to my hi-fi audio gear. I was once a Sony authorized dealer and repair shop, trained to work on their products. Sincerely Richard
Welcome! I just went to a car show and they had some new for me stuff including a 65 Toyota Corona and a Triumph Herald. I don't think I've ever seen either in-person before. One of the interesting other cars was a Triumph Spitfire turned into a rat rod. It had very wide rear tires and something big up front, not sure what the engine was. I learned how to work on cars with a Spitfire cuz something new would break every other week.
Hello Mrx, Very cool! My buddies just got back from one in Canada where there were roughly 600 cars. Glad you joined our little group, Datson. Anyway, one of my favorites is the Datson 240Z. Sincerely Richard
There was one 240z, it looked straight out of the 80's when they took the bumpers off and added a front spoiler. Those were game-changing cars but in the Midwest they lasted 3-5 years with the salted roads, same with British and Italian Cars that turned to dust.
