I have just been watching a TV programme made in 1984 about problems with system built buildings.
In the background of a public meeting which looked to be being held in a school I spotted.

Nice! I saw this from Discovery+ “Back in Time For Dinner” where a modern family goes back in time to experience a decade- in this case, the 1980s.

All the whole Back in Time series were great. There was another large Boombox in Back in Time for the weekend.
Back in Time for school featured an 2XL 8 track based robot which surprised the 21st century kids.

A similar series was Electric Dreams which concentrated purely on the Electronic gadgets a family might have acquired.

Electric Dreams was one of my favorite movies. There was a clip of some guy holding a JVC RC-550 on his shoulder. I was like, oh hell yeah!

I am just wondering if the series on Discovery+ was the BBC one or one made for the USA.
Many successful TV series like Who Wants to be a Millionaire have local versions made in lots of different countries.

p.s here is the Electric Dreams series on Youtube

Yes I like the movie as well. I might still have a twin pack of VHS cassette and an audio cassette of the soundtrack. More recently I bought it on DVD when it was re-issued on that.

I'm sure the film inspired the title of the TV series. I think this TV series I linked to (from 2009) might have been an inspiration for the Back in Time series six years later,

I have Electric dreams the film on DVD, love the sound Track.

I really enjoy Electric Dreams the BBC documentary, I have it on my NAS drive and I have watched it more than once as it brings back memories.
I you like the documentary, you must check out Micro Men a documentary about Clive Sinclair and Acorn Computers which became Arm holdings (Arm Processors). Without Arm we would not have smart phones or the latest Apple computer which are all based on ARM CPU.

It would be interesting to know where it was bought. My Mother was a Teacher so I used to get to see the yearly catalogue of school supplies with things like science demonstration kits. However, she ended up buying her own AV kit (Radio Cassettes and a record player). I have said before that it was a student teacher bringing in a Sanyo Radio Cassette she had received as a 21st Birthday present that made my mother want one. That was about 1973. Nowadays, a student teacher would be more likely to bring in a Bluetooth speaker.
