Hi everyone, I was gifted an Aiwa JX879 player by a family friend a few months ago, in need of a belt. I've spent a few hours of my spare time over the past months trying to disassemble it, but without much luck. Wanted to ask if anyone had experience with such Aiwas from the 90s, and how they might come apart. Thanks!
Hi @falsefruit , I would search for service manuals of related walkmans. A quick search on google returned the first sheet of the service manual, I copied it below. The 3 devices listed are similarly built, and the tape mechanism most likely is used in more Aiwa portables. This is very common practice to reduce the cost of the entire line.
