The Walkman 4. I bought this back in the early 1980's and still going strong. A little beat up but to my ears feeding it a well recorded metal tape sounds wonderful to my ears. Out of the few tape Walkmans I have this is still my favourite. Any body else own a similar Walkman and maybe agree with me?

I own one also and agree with you Derek , with 40 to 16000 Hz frequency response on metal tape and 30+30 mw power output it's no wonder that it sounds great.
Big machine with proven mechanics , before touch controls, hyper miniaturisation , with rounded corners to fit in small pockets , avls , which are all great stuff (except avls :)) but at the end of the day or better yet after 43 years what it really counts is that it can still deliver great analog sound , who could imagine that in 1982 ?

Totally agree with you Machaneus. It's a shame Sony put on such a thin layer of paint. On mine you can see where it has worn off by putting it in and out of pocket. Love to get the red and blue versions.
