Do batteries affect play speed?

Should I worry about batteries affecting play speed? Will they play faster than normal at a full change and is there a way to know if they have run down enough to play more slowly?

Will a wall-plug on a Walkman (if it has one) ever have issues with play speed?

 

Usually, no. Good machines compensate for lower voltage, until the battery gets very low.
