It’s like the Sony dual Walkman (wm-800?) but it also has detachable stereo speakers.
Anyone have one? I’ve never seen one before.

it’s only kinda Walkman size, but is it that or a Boombox because of the removable speakers and handle.

You guys are killing me with the gems, I am kind of cheap and look for bargains, which these would have been 15 years ago. I have visions in my head about the conversations they had building this stuff like suppliers talking about the latest and greatest plastic injection technics with "shiny" plastic that doesn't crack like the old stuff did. And where are the concept drawings? Why do we never see concept drawings, the Sanyo was obviously marketed at a target audience.

These things have held up well, anybody remember early 80's cars with the yellowing and then crumbling plastic parts in the cabin? Armor-All was making a fortune back then, we'd religously put it on hoping to make the fading plastic look a tiny bit better.

I think there's a few ads for it in the long ad thread. I love the kids door sticker, I think that was a throwback to the early 70's portables which used it as a logo.

Car stereos are hot C2G! There was a time when they were really cheap, I remember a full Marantz Stack BIN for around $45 USD, now they go for 10-20x that. I'm glad, I think a majority of them met the crusher.

I searched the model number and found the old post, basically a few photos.
I thought the speakers both detached but it seems only the right one does, and the left speaker just rotates (no idea why you need it to rotate).
