My name is Oleg. Engineer in microelectronics. Very long been fond of audio equipment class High-End, but not so long ago decided to bring to life my dream school - a large Boombox Sharp! Did it! Bought, restored, set up. Now pleases the eyes and ears!
Thank you very much! I was choosing which one to keep - two large tape recorders to place in the apartment hard enough Victory red!
Welcome Oleg Here in the UK the Silver VZ2500 s regularly appear on Ebay as several large retailers (e.g. Dixons) sold them back in the 1980s. Have a look at the top right of this 1982/83 catalogue page. The price isn't much more than the more conventional Music Centres I don't think the red ones were ever sold here though. Are the controls on yours marked in English or Japanese ?
H Oleg welcome, Your Sharp (red one) is my favorite boombox. I have been looking for one like yours for a long time
Hi, Longman! VZ-2500 silver (220 V) now cost about 1000$ in Russian. Japanese version Silver VZ-V20 (100 V) - about 500$ - 700$, VZ-V20 Red (100 V) - 3000+$ (If the units are fully functional) Red Sharp I bought at Japanese auction for 500$ (total, with shipping), but it was not working absolutely. Now it works all with new heads, belts in turntable, new belts, press rollers, idler in the tape recorder. Replaced many electrolytic capacitors, mains transformer rewound for 220 V. The controls are marked in Japanese - VZ-V20 & VZ-V20 Red versions are produced only for the domestic Japan market! At home I had all three versions at different times:
Hi, Boodokhan! Sharp VZ-V20 Red for the last 3 years was on all the online auctions of the World only 4 times. I just got lucky
Hi Oleg, Nice to see you here. We met in a spaniard forum and I remember to invite you to join here, so... welcome aboard! Very nice Sharp. I have never seen one of this in person but would love to. Looks impressive.
My home audio system: Class A amplifier (10 W\8 Ohm) - my design and production. Digital source: Adcom GDV-870, turntable pioneer PL-1250, MC cartridge DL-103R Denon, ZKI cables of the Russian production, MM RIAA amlifier (my production), MC transformers from the popular in Russia the private master (A. Vorobyov) from Moldova. Cassette deck Nakamichi ZX-7 in a perfect technical condition and all parameters are measured and they are equal (often superior) specified in the service manual.
