Hi, I collect walkman's! It's become somewhat of an obsession really. I have no idea how I missed all these Walkman's back in the day. Life perhaps? I just added a WM-2 to my collection. But it's missing it's battery cover. A common issue I'm finding. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated thanks. Ken
Welcome!! I know my excuse: I was young and penniless, and already too much of a hi-end “snob” to pay attention to Walkmans. Missing butt covers is a real pain in the .... unless 3d printing is available it is a tough search
Welcome aboard AussieKen! In the early days of the forum, there was a member that would fabricate covers. The hard part was the clips, the rest was just sheet plastic cut down to size. Sometimes he'd take a crappy player and cut the clips off of it and glue those to his sheet plastic, cut to the right size and they would look great. Unfortunately those threads are long gone. I bought some "pebble-grain" ABS sheet but still haven't gotten out to the shop to make some lids. I'm pretty sure you can heat it so it bends if you need a little bit of edge on it.
