Hello everyone! My name is Bobby. I was born in 1993 and missed a great deal of the cassette craze back in the day. But, I have a great appreciation and affinity for tech, especially retro tech! One of my other hobbies is retro game collecting. Naturally, Walkmans appealed to me especially after finding my first Walkman ever for $3 at the local thrift. It was a WM-F10 that I found in November of 2021. The colors appealed to me because they matched the Nintendo Famicom aesthetic so nicely. Of course, I did tons of research and stumbled upon many beautiful Walkman models and even some beautiful models from other manufacturers. Since finding the WM-F10, the collecting bug has bitten me hard and I now have some nice pieces in the collection. I have thoroughly enjoyed fixing these old broken cassette players and breathing new life into them while admiring their beauty on the shelf! Here is what I currently have: Walkman WM-10 (blue) Walkman WM-F10 Walkman WM-F15 (blue) Walkman WM-F55 (red) Walkman WM-F100 II (black) Aiwa HS-P77 (red)
Welcome to the forum jumpman1229! We love these little gadgets that used to be everywhere and it's a bonus that you can do some repairs to them. Feel free to post any photos, even the cool old retro games, I grew up with arcades and lived by three that were skateboarding distance away. Here's a photo of some Nintendos in Japan, these retail for about $65/55 USD. This is from a seven story vintage toy shop, you go in the first floor and it looks like a grocery store check out but instead it's the opposite, you lay your old toys down and they give you cash for them. I posted more information in a thread somewhere on here when I went over there, the store might ship internationally.
