    Hi all!

Recently joined as I hear this is a good place to get advice on old Walkman hardware. I've recently come into possession of a TPS-L2 that needed some TLC, and a seller refurbished WM-F501. Beyond those recent acquisitions, I have been very happy with Sony's line of music players. I've had a few of their MP3 Walkmans, and even a Walkman phone (W995, still have it, but no charger). Part of the reason I've come here is for advice on an issue I have with the recently purchased TPS-L2, and of course, with this introduction out of the way I will be heading to the relevant thread to post my query.

Choice of cans could be better though. I currently use the Sony MDR-ZX770BN's with my A55, and Steel Series headset with my PC.

Loving the hardware, I obviously love to listen to music too, and I have quite a collection though most of it is doujin music related to the Touhou Project games (I do play them, honest). Generally I'm into metal, techno, hardcore, anything that sounds, and feels good really. Some artists on Bandcamp I follow naturally do the odd limited cassette releases, and having purchased a few, that ultimately led me to chase a portable cassette player!

Music also got me into self-hosting, with the decentralised Funkwhale project. So my A55 tends to serve as a backup most of the time as I can stream my collection from home most of the time. From there I add Pleroma for a bit, before moving to a self-hosted Misskey instance (social network like Twitter but not centralised).

Otherwise, I'm just your somewhat average IT techy from the UK.
