I've discovered this site while endeavouring to revive my walky.
I have this Toshiba KT-VS1 model and the black caps on the spindle reels are completely missing, they're gone like for years and decades.
Another thing is that although it works just fine, both radio and audio cassette (I assume it does because the spindle reel turns when the PLAY button is pressed. The head is also clean.) but you have to press (squeeze) the unit slightly so that the power feeds. Depending on the positions, I guess it gets "loose" on power connection and it goes on and off unless it's pressed like you grab your sandwich or hamburger. Will this be an easy fix or something that I shouldn't bother fixing as it's kinda complicated and pointless?
Anyways, I'll try to be a member who contribute as much as I get help from you folks.
    Thanks! :)

Welcome! Sorry I can't help you with the spindles, in the past I've replaced them with parts from less expensive models. You'd have to post a photo of what you have left. I pulled a KT-S1 off the shelf and they don't have a clip on the top so they must connect on under the cassette tray.
