Hi there, I'm Cody. I'm new to all this and have a question about a Walkman WM-F5 I'm working on. I"ll post in the correct area. I've also got a boom box and another portable cassette player I'm hoping to fix up this summer so I'll likely be around a bit.

Welcome Cody, what got you into collecting? Be great to have an intro and of course, we'll help with the tech question.

    Enjoy!

Oh yeah sorry about no intro. I was too eager to get my Walkman fixed I forgot haha.
What got me into collecting is simply that I just think older tech looks cool. Especially stuff from the 80s and 90s. It started with VHS tapes and VCRs but a few years ago I found a neat looking boom box at an estate sale and a Sanyo portable cassette player. Both are broken and I was too lazy to ever fix so they've just been decoration. A friend of mine has been talking about wanting the Walkman I'm working on now for a while. So I decided to buy one and fix it up for her as a birthday present which is what led me to this forum. Now that I'm here, I'm definitely gonna try my had at repairing the boombox and Sanyo!

No argument here, the older gear just oozes charm sadly lacking now. Once you can fix your own kit it opens up lots of options, plus, its so satisfying. You wil fit in well here!
