I'll make it short, I've come here to see if someone can help me with an issue of a Walkman I have, I haven't collected a lot of Walkman, but it started around 2019, after I had played Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which featured a WM-R55 prominently, I expressed this interest to my mom, who bought me a generic tape player except it was very cheaply made. I informed her of the real deal that I wanted which eBay was the best avenue for obtaining one, as much as I wanted the recording variant, I didn't want my mom to spend the kind of money they were being sold for on eBay, so I settled for the standard variant, I wasn't crazy about it being the exact model in the exact coloring. Eventually, she got a good deal on a WM-55 and I've listened to it on and off ever since, I even unintentionally scratched a V on the plate with the tape light and Sony logo.
I'm surprised nobody has screen shot that one yet, both look very nice but I've never seen one up close. Hopefully the stereo bug hits you, when I was young, music, sports and video games went hand in hand but we had to go to the arcade to play any decent games, usually by skateboard or BMX bikes.
Same here. I think our environment also affects our generation as well as movies and video games. I'm 19 and when I was a child, I used to watch A-Team with my grandfather. When we had dinner, we also used to watch Knight Rider. I used to play a lot GTA Vice City and San Andreas and listen their radio stations. These stations and TV series greatly influenced my taste in music. Thus, I am collecting Walkmans, listening old musics and watching 80s TV series. In my opinion, they are much more better than today's products. We should maintain this culture.
