A know Sony made several in the MiniDisc days, but trying to get a list of all the Discman models with optical out (or just a list of all the Discman models in general) has failed me on Google. My current portable CD player pile has: Panasonic SL-CT582V Sony Discman D-131 Sony Discman D-33 Not sure how good any of these players are, but I like them. I want to add a portable CD player with optical out to the pile. My Googling tells me the Optimus 3400 is THE portable CD player to get, but I can't find one for sale anywhere, and when I do, it's going for "audiophile" pricing. Any recommendations on good portable CD players with optical out? Doesn't need to be a Discman.
Sony D-33 is a very good Discman, definitely a keeper! Discmans with digital-out from my own collection: Sony D-555 and D-303 with good ol' Toslink optical-out Kenwood DPC-77 and Denon DCP-70 with 3.5mm Coax-out Beautiful Magnesium-shell Sony D-EJ985 with 3.5mm Toslink, Infamous'n'ugly Optimus CD-3400 with 3.5mm Coax and brand-new, still in production Amadana with Toslink There are few plain-looking Discmans like Sony D-375, D-E551, Kenwood DPC-92 from mid-nineties which have digital-out masquerading as 3.5mm jack
