does anybody have a WM-D6 for trade or sale ? i‘m looking for the (earlier) Dolby B only version (green letters on unit) please pm, thanks
When I was using mine (it hasn't worked in the last 15 years) I didn't like the sound of Dolby B and recorded my vinyl albums, and some live performances, on Type II and IV cassettes with Dolby B turned off. The tape hiss was not as bad as the loss of high end frequency using Dolby B.
I must keep it to erase my Metal and CrO2 tapes so I can sell them as near virgin state condition items with no trace of music. A bulk eraser will leave sounds on them. Some of the tapes have music that is not on streaming services, so the WM-D6 is the best way I can listen to them. I bought it 37 years ago and now it's boxed up with some parts I just bought, ready to send to a repair service. It needs new rubber parts and a muting module.
