They seem to be crawling out of the woodwork, in the old days mini's were ultra-cool but nobody knew what you were talking about since we'd mostly never seen them before. I recently picked up this little gem, I'm really excited after seeing nickeccles threads on these top-firing mini-beasts and actually finding one. Sanyo M7755 is playing one of my favorites, Promises Promises by Naked Eyes on the radio and for a little guy it sounds pretty good considering the speakers are about 4" in diameter, the good songs always come out when I'm taking photos of my boxes and hopefully I don't wake anybody up. Visually it's pretty stunning from 10' away, it's silver but it has a nice dark chrome, almost wet shean look to it. The chrome work on this is top-notch and the cassette door has depth to it similar to a high end tape deck from the 70's. One of these days I'm going to have a real battle-royale with these mini's and see how they really perform.
It's one of those ones that you do a double-take to make sure it's not entry level but it's a step above and you can tell Sanyo let the designers have some freedom with it. It a very square box and would make a nice addition to a mid-century modern home.
