Hello guys,i need your help with this one.I have a Pioneer CT W830R from 1990 that we got it new.And i have found the Pioneer CT W606DR at 160euro.Do you think that it will be a worthy upgrade from the one that i already have?
160 Euro's for the 2nd deck seems like silly money but I might be wrong. I'm in the position where I picked up most of mine in the $5-10 USD range, I did pay up for a Nakamachi 10 years ago. I know tape decks are going up in price but I'd look more at units built during 78-85 if I was going to spend that kind of money. We've discussed here before, Greece had a ton of boomboxes shipped there during the heyday, you might be able to find a higher end model with audio out to hook up to your stereo. Edit...So I just went to completed sales on ebay and this unit get decent money, I think I might have one similar in the shop, time to cash in. I used to leave the price tags on my stuff, can't wait to see what it's worth.
Yeah it seems that 160e is a bit too much for my budget sadly....I would most likely buy one at 120-130 or so.But now,even tho 30-40 might seem not much,i cannot afford it lol And i already have a Walkman coming that will need repair.Also found one for 90e but the guy is asking for a bank transfer and that's a risk im not willing to take.So i will most likely abandon the idea...
Too bad your not closer.... You guys must have gotten all of the boomboxes and we got all of the component decks. I was thinking of doing an inventory of my tape decks to see what I've got, I know the nice ones but I've got more stored away. I used to see them all of the time, still do but now more decks from the 90's.
Are you collecting car decks too?I recently changed my CD for a 1990 Pioneer deck KEH P8600R a Pioneer 12 CD changer plus a Pioneer hidden EQ,and an AUX box to connect an MP3 or phone etc.
I'd love to have some cool car decks but I just have a handful, one's really cool it's the Sony Music Shuttle, the only car/Walkman Player made.

Having said that, for 160 Euros I would want it to be mint condition in the original box. p.s On the subject of car decks I saw this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 in that condition go for a very low price a few days ago. I was tempted but decided it would be another thing I probably wouldn't get around to using especially since newer cars have no space for anything like that.
My Walkman (Aiwa PL 303) came today guys!! Its in an unbelievable for its age condition...its practically new not even a scratch...It has the battery too!! That ofc doesnt work,not sure if i can revive it...I need your help on this one
