    Hi guys,

I wasn't sure where to post this, so mods, feel free to relocate this thread if it belongs in a different section.

I'm having issues with two sony gumstick batteries I've recently picked on ebay, an NH-10WM (aka NC-6WM) and a NH-14WM(A) (aka. NH-9WM). None of them seem to charge on my Sony BC-7HT with the exception of an off brand gumstick in a green casing. I'm not sure if the issue lies with the batteries or the charger itself. I had originally picked up an nh-10wm and when placing it on the charger the light would come on for a few seconds and then go off. I didn't bother exchanging it since I was able to successfully use the off brand one, but I just received the nh-14wm and it's behaving the same way. It did come with a little bit of charge though, so I know the seller was actually able to power it, I'm just not sure what's happening on my end. Is the problem the charger? I've cleaned the contacts and like I said earlier the off brand battery charges perfectly. Has anyone had this issue before? There's also the possibility of these being fake, but they DID have some juice in them when they arrived. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and happy holidays everyone!

I have four "brand name" gumstick batteries from Sony and Panasonic. they still work a bit but only one holds full charge. Which is a miracle, because they are just too old... Out of two "fresh" gumsticks bought two years ago, one is already dead.

These batteries have limited shelf lives, even if never used. I'm not sure when Sony last produced gumstick batteries, but it wouldn't surprise me if even the latest production run is already past it's useful life. I think the only option these days are the Chine made off-brand ones.
