Hi folks, Looking to sell my WM701S. Please see the pics. The walkman itself is in nearly pefect condition, easily 9 or 9.5 out of 10. All accesories are as new. The box itself shows some scuffs that are noticable depending on the angle of viewing, the box is about 7/10 condition. Since the original owner only ever had it as a display piece, I did install a new belt from "fix your audio" (Slovakia) as well as did a speed sync and I can confirm it all works as it should. Please let me know if you have any questions. Also I should mention I can facilitate shipping to Canada or the US for cheap because I live very close to the border.
... and then you Google the price Lucky me, Sony never made any commemorative or "limited edition" Discmans. The most expensive Sony, D-Z555 can be bought for under a thousand
I don't blame them, it's part of the fun of collecting. Some of my stuff might be "normal" but might have beened owned by a figure from history, that's always a cool point as well.
Ah, the famous slot-loading Discman! Totally agreed, D-E01 is almost as beautiful as WM701S offered here There is one boxed available for $1.25k right now: Some of these D-E01 even have a sticker "20th Anniversary Walkman"... @Emiel is right, this is the closest Discmans came to Tiffany Edition Walkmans @Gagan Singh did not mention price, but I doubt it is anywhere near $1.25k. Probably multiple of? I will ask @Boodokhan, he collected a few of these
I actually saw more than one of these going on https://tori.fi however the condition was pretty bad. The seller only wanted about $300. A simple polish could have done a lot to increase the value, so could have selling it on eBay instead of local classifieds. Didn't end up getting it because I have more than enough expensive premium walkmans as is. This is a beautiful one though and could easily be restored by a detailer to pretty much perfect condition. Especially considering that the wear isn't on any part that has text etc.
