My favorite boombox is running slow! A 3KHz cassette tape sounds like 1KHz. I replaced the belt, and although the current belt was stretched, there was no noticeable difference with a new one. The service manual states that there is no speed control for the cassette. I don't know where to go from here. BTW, this boombox is a delight to work with. All the socket terminals are well labeled so removing the cassette housing was much easier than I expected. Anyway, I'm hoping for an undocumented POT somewhere on this unit for controlling the tape speed. Any help is greatly appreciated.
How about on the motor itself? Many motors have a small covered hole on the back for an internal speed adjustment pot.
I assumed the Service Manual would had pointed this out, but I guess not. There is what looks like an adjustment POT behind the motor so I’ll give that a go first. Thanks.
