Sony MDR-V700DJ Headphones. Back when these headphones first came out I bought a pair. Liked them so much I bought a second pair. To a yo e still usi g these phones: I have heard so many stories about these developing a crack which eventually breaks. I'm no DJ and I'm very gentle with my equipment so I did not believe all the hype. Then the other day I noticed a small crack developing near the usual swivel position. I then believed all the stories. Glue/tape is no good to fix this problem so I got my brother-in-law to thread some fine wire around all the weak spots- my second pair as well and he has done a fantastic job- so neat, I hope this has safe guarded these phones for a few more years. So my message to any anyone who still uses these phones is to do what I have done before the crack appears. I particularly like the sound of classical music recorded on a metal tape. I know many others disagree but all our ears are different. I hope this might be of help to music lovers who still use these particular phones.

I wonder if you can use a 3D pen, I just got one but haven't been able to get the hang of it.

Have o Experiance with 3D modelling so cannot help. Everything is possible I suppose but I think the way I went offered the most robust solution.

    Yes, Please! A few photos!!
I had the same concern when buying Audio-Technica on-ear woodies, but although real flimsy they are still intact: lucky me!

Jorge, henrypal, Mrs. Thanks for reply. I would love to post some photos on the site but I just don't bloody understand how to do it. Only have a Samsung J5 Android. Mr X and a couple of others have tried to explain how but being an old miserable git( says my wife), just dont understand computers. As I said my Brother in law fixed them,so near, he builds all his own radio equipment, that I hope they will last for many more years. I just don't know anyone who can show me how to post photos.

I don't use a phone for surfing the internet so I don't know what the mobile version looks like but when your looking at this thread there should be an "upload file" button next tothe "post reply" button, once you press that you need to find your picture folder on your phone and direct it to the photo.

Hi Henry pal. Have done it at last thanks to my wife. What do you think? I know it does effect them cosmetically but at least I may have the headphones for a few more years. Have you tried these phones?

As far as I know it's only the v700 DJ that suffers from this problem so yours will probably be ok.

I remember back in the eighties I had the Sony mdr- CD-999 and the mdr-CD777 phones that I liked a lot but have not listened to the V- 55's. The 999's had the 50mm drivers.
