Hi everyone, I started talking about this deck in my presesentation thread, but I thought it would be better to create a thread for it. So it is shurly not the best double deck but I like it. It is part of the Sony LBT-D505 stereo which I had new in 1991. I have to take some pictures, but here is what it looks like : It is servo controlled and can not work in stand alone funktion because there are no in or outputs. A couple of years ago it stopped working, it had 2 cassettes in it who wouldn't flip out anymore. So I tried to make it repair by a collegue but he didn't managed to do anything about it. Since then it stayed like this for years as I didn't knew what to do. But that changed 2 weeks ago, when I found a carton box full of cassettes in the garage As I knew the deck was out of order I tried to find my Sony walkman DD11 to listen to these tapes, but no sound.... That was for me the sign that I had absolutly to repair my stuff. So a research on internet got me to this forum for the walkman, and I found some other information about the belts from the deck who needed a replacement. So after having ordered the wrong belt kit, I received today the new one, and this time the belts are the right ones As the deck was already in pieces, I started direcly to replace the belts, which is very easy in fact. I've followed a tutorial on youtube which was about an other deck but with the same architecture and the same belts. It took me half an hour to get everything cleaned and done. Then came the moment to test it, was a little nervous as it haven't been playing tapes for a loooonnnggg time. So get it connected to the rest of the installation, opened the door of the A deck and putted a cassette in it............pushed the play button.........and then...........A MIRACLE........it works, and everything works even on the B deck After that, I also fixed the windows from the 2 doors and the center window who with the heat and the years fell down. As Mister X suggested it, I've been using a heating gun to heat them slowely up and put them in place. It worked very good as you can see on this door : Center window falling down
