Hi everyone, I'm in the market for a gum stick battery holder for a WM-102. Does anyone have any spares or know of somewhere that's selling one? Thanks a lot
I have been working on a 3d printed model for the wm-100. (unfortunately the clips that break most often on these are in a slightly different location than the ones for the wm-102). I will update the model for the wm-102 as soon as I get a change as I recently purchased a nice red one with no cover. (The battery holder for the 101 fits close bit its misaligned a bit. Anyway, if you have access to a 3d printer, I would be happy to share the models. I would even print one for you but must admit without a WM-102 battery holder it my hand it might take some time to get the clips right... This goes for anyone in the same predicament... be happy to share models/collaborate/print for others without the resources. cheers!
I did a little investigating around the battery holders in 2020 - http://stereo2go.com/forums/threads...ry-box-capacitors-in-sony-wm-101-wm-102.6072/ interesting seeing the tiny differences. I'll be removing the caps soon, as I found some replacements that might fit - I'll update that post when it's complete.
Thanks Rossoe! I found this information very informative while designing a 3d printed version for my WM-F100... Just hoped they would all work together. Now that I have my dream red WM-102 from Japan, I need to figure out the battery situation. Please keep us informed if you have sourced an acceptable cap replacement. The holder I drew up & printed only works on the WM-F100 (I am assuming it would work on the WM-100 as well). Made cheaply with 16ga single strand wire and some peening at the contacts. I noticed that without the cap it is more susceptible to a slowing speed as the battery voltage declines... something that isn't present in my Wm-101 with factory battery holder.
