I have been using my sony wm-3 for quite a while now. earlier today I started hearing a screeching noise from my tape player. I don't hear it when I'm listening to it when there isn't a tape in. After a while, I have a tape in, I start to hear it. how should I address the issue? do I oil the motor, the capstans or something else?
Its hard to tell without opening the walkman to see the movement parts. Maybe its the time to open it and change the belts (2 belts) and possibly idler tire and lubricate it.
