    Hey there,

So I've been attempting to repair my dd30 with the center gear and I finished all the cla and replacements, but after placing the parts together the rewind just has this horrendous clicking. Forward works fine as does play and stop, but when checking out the gears the little arm thing under the center gear catches when it reaches the bottom and then resumes going up and down. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Any help would be really appreciated.

There is no simple answer to your question.
You can get a better response if you post a video of your walkman. open your walkman and flip the board and press play, FFW and REW button for experts to see it. That way you might get the right answer.
I think the problem is in the take up gear assembly or the component under it (small gear, coil).

    Hi there,
I’ve just had the same problem, except it’s a DD33 ans the FF that does not work / makes unhealthy, grinding noises. Check my Forum thread posted here earlier this week: I’ve uploaded 2 videos. Maybe your problem is similar?

Following _-THE REPAIR GUIDE-_ for Center gear (Fix your Audio / Walkman Arxhive), I’ve tried “bending” the arm of the Center gear up.
To no avail unfortunately: I’d rather say that I’ve completely f***** up the center gear’s arm position.
So, my humble advice if anyone suggests that you bend the CG arm: be verrrry careful.

    Good luck.

    Could be worth checking:

for people that have issue's when ff with a new gear, change is big that you have a cracked plastic on the back of the chassis assy. In this plastic turns claw assy reel (see picture), most of the time I manage to glue it back in position again but it has to be perfectly aligned. Also its important not to use to much glue because then the steel plate does not fit the plastic holder anymore

I’ll check that possibility out! It’s definitely worth giving it a look!
How easy is it the get under the assembly metal plate?

Remove these screws on picture 1 and 2 than lift the plastic clip in the battery compartment (picture 3) and turn it 90 degrees so you can remove the metal plate.
