Tandberg Model 11 had been developed for advanced users who need a reliable, combined portable and stationary tape recorder. The tape recorder was ideal for anyone who made the most stringent demands on usability, reliability, and recording quality.

This Tandberg was used at the end of the '60s - beginning of the '70s by a Dutch journalist from Radio Omroep Zuid, which is the current regional channel 1Limburg in the Netherlands. It has literally traveled all over the world.

One sunny day in Florida, a husband and wife were joyfully cruising along in their luxurious classic cabriolet. The wind was in their hair, and they were enjoying the beautiful scenery around them. Little did they know that a quirky Dutch journalist was about to add some unexpected experience to their journey!

As they rounded a bend in the road, there, standing like a beacon of curiosity, was the Dutch journalist holding a portable professional Tandberg tape recorder. The couple couldn't believe their eyes! They slowed down and pulled over, intrigued by this peculiar sight.

The Dutch journalist, with a twinkle in his eye, approached them and said, "Goedemiddag! I couldn't resist capturing the real sounds of Florida with my trusty Tandberg tape recorder. I would like to keep them for future generations!"

The wife said, "Well, I guess you should record the sound of the engine of our cabrio, as it is a typical sound in Florida for now! It's a match made in heaven! Please, keep it for the history!"

And from that moment on, whenever they looked back on their Florida trip, they would always remember the day they met the Dutch reporter with his Tandberg tape recorder. It was a hilarious reminder that sometimes, amidst the fast-paced modern world, a touch of old-fashioned charm can make everything just a little more delightful!

Thanks for sharing, I had no idea Tandberg had a cool little field recorder. I think I've only seen one 0r two recievers, the equipment is pretty rare over here. I wonder if it had Tandberg Batteries when it was new? I can definately see the alure of Florida, I've traveled down the keys several times, usually in a convertible or jeep. The sounds, smells and sunsets are worth the trip.

I have never ever seen branded Tandberg batteries, I think they did not make it! I have some very old Philips batteries in the museum collection only.
