After 33 years of waiting Techmoan has a Sony FH7. Interesting to see the old catalogues and him calculating the equivalent 2018 price.
I just watched that this morning Longman and was thinking of you. You turned me on to his videos a while back and I've watched most of them since. My chances of finding one of these great units grows smaller everyday but it sure looks great with the turntable on top. I've got odds that one of his videos will be of the Marantz Micro System, especially since he did one on the Technics M1 CoDeck after I put it on my personal grail lists.
I found my FH-7 Mk2 at a bootsale for £10, mine is missing the handle but it does work. The tape deck needs rebelting (don't they all though!) and I found the battery adaptor on eBay for about £30 if I remember right. Great sounding unit with plenty of highs and lows. I also have the CDP-7F cd player that goes with it (I have 2 technically but one needs a new display board), another eBay bargain, sold as non-working, but a clean-up of the sled and laser and it works fine now. I'd love to find another one but they are starting to fetch silly money now.
Sony FH-7 is one of the most beautiful boomboxes ever made. I have been looking for a red one for years Thanks for sharing this video Longman
I always enjoy his vids but yeah this one was particularly good, made me want to did mine out for a play this week
Due to the way Youtube knows your taste the next video I watched was the first Databits video I have seen. If you are into vintage audio you should enjoy this. I litteraly don't have time to watch TV these days with all the great channels on Youtube.
The FH-7 compared to FH-909 is a very big distance. I would really like to see Techmoan review FH-909 as I think this model bridges the gap between boom box quality and home system quality in a portable system the same size as FH-7 and other brand boxes. No it doesn't take batteries or have a battery add-on but it is quite a leap up from the other FH models.
