Model 9041X Stereo was the new top model in the Tandberg 9000X series in 1973, developed according to the requirements of the international Hi-Fi market. Behind the design was the name of a world-famous manufacturer of magnetic tape recorders, TANDBERG from Norway.

    MECHANICAL EXECUTION
The 9041X model has been designed to meet the highest demands in terms of reliability and quality. The most modern technology and manufacturing process structure created a belt control system that meets professional requirements in terms of precision and stability. The service-friendly design made maintenance much easier.
Tandberg 9041X was equipped with a hysteresis synchronous main motor that guarantees a constant tape speed during both recording and playback. Two separate winding motors allow for quick rewinding and ensure precise tape tension under all operating conditions.

    NEW TECHNICAL REFINES
The greatest emphasis was placed on a quick and safe transition between the individual operating modes. The control system works with the most modern logic circuits of digital technology. The buttons are easy to press with your fingertip which makes operating the device exceptionally convenient and reliable. The buttons are equipped with a visual display, making it easy to see which function is currently switched on.

The 9041X model has all the functions you would expect from a highly developed Tandberg magnetic tape recorder: AB test, “Sound-on-Sound”, echo, and other options for making trick recordings. The superior recording properties result from the Tandberg Cross-Field technology (cross-field pre-magnetization).
The 9041X model is primarily intended for use in a Tandberg HiFi system, for example in conjunction with the most powerful Tandberg receiver TR-2075 (on this photo), record player, and Tandberg HiFi loudspeaker boxes.

    LEVEL MEASUREMENT
The recording and playback levels, which can be adjusted using flat-track controls, are each displayed by a peak voltage indicator with an illuminated scale.

    MIX
When recording in mono, the signals from one program source and one microphone, or from two microphones, or from two program sources can be mixed.

AB test (front and back belt control)
Check the program either at the same time as recording (A test) or after recording via the playback head (B test).

In summary, the Tandberg 9041X model was a high-quality magnetic tape recorder designed to meet the stringent requirements of the Hi-Fi market. It combines mechanical precision with modern controls, offering a range of recording options and compatibility with Tand
