I have an opportunity to buy one of these. Don't know anything about them. Anyone here have any advice or experience on these?

I'd get one if it was the right price, they're a great 80's statement piece we've discussed a few times (I've posted an 80's review here on one of the threads). In the USA these were mostly owned by women that wanted the smaller non-traditional set-up so they didn't seem like a Camaro Owning, Pioneer Stacked Persona. They were great apartment or dorm units but they did have a lot of plastic and mid-fi build to they didn't get a lot of respect but they were neat to check out with their push bottons, which seemed high tech over the toggle switches they replaced. They've really stood the test of time and now look great, a big conversation piece.

My experience with linear tracking is the track system need to be cleaned extremely good. The old greases get hard and things catch and rub, causing the needle to skip, hopefully none of the really small parts and gears are broken or missing, they're usually plastic and unobtainium if they break. This is a given and may give you bargaining power if you do buy it.
