I've recently purchased a TPS-L2 walkman however I'm having motor issues. When I press play, the motor spins for about 3 seconds, then stops, but if I press it quickly again it will spin for half a second or so. It spins smoothly and at the usual speed but just stops suddenly with no hint of struggle. Once it has stopped, it doesn't attempt to continue spinning even when pushed. The red power button lights up and static can be heard through headphones (I cannot hear music as the drive belts are to be replaced but if the motor isn't functioning that's unrelated really). Also, I tried pressing fast forward and rewind but the motor still spins only in one direction for the same duration of time. Prior to this, the motor would not move at all, so I took it apart and lubricated it. If anyone could help, I would be very grateful. I'm hoping the issue is just the motor and not power related as electrics aren't my strong point... Thanks :D

I am not an expert but this is what i would do
try to run the motor directly with a battery. If it works fine the problem is not the motor
I am sure other members can recommend you the right steps.
