https://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-gibson-guitars-debt-20180320-story.html It seems the leadership at Gibson made some bad investment decisions and might go down the drain. Add that electric guitar sales are tanking and it's a recipe for disaster. I've been to the original Gibson Factory in Kalamazoo a few times and was shocked when the city almost bulldozed it a few years ago. Luckily the citizens revolted and saved the 100 year old factory including it's iconic smoke stack. In case you do a beer tour and hit up Bell's Beer in Kalamazoo, the factory is about four blocks behind Bell's.
Very sad if true. Near my dads place in Hanwell we have the first Marshall shop which was given protected status but is now a Persian restaurant. Hendrix definitely got an amp there, but now it’s all about the flavour explosion
