What cassette deck does the Sony CFD-S401 use ?

    For some time people have claimed that only Tanashin is making cassette decks. Yet looking on the Sony.jp website the CFD-S401 with a soft touch cassette deck is still listed and being sold. I wonder what cassette deck it uses.

    Techmoan reviewed one three years ago

    One of the more recent comments (from two years ago) suggests that they are still being bought by Japanese schools for teaching languages etc. Since a set of professionally produced language lessons for a specific curriculum probably costs more than the unit that wouldn't surprise me.
