My trusty wm-dc2 has developed noise on the right hand channel. This is only on the headphone output and can't be heard on the line out. If you press play (without a tape in) and the volume is above 3 it is very prominent. Is this a known problem and is it an easy fix? Doe the headphone op amp need replacing? Is this a repair for the experts? Thanks
I would say this is most likely a failing capacitor so it will need that switching, as these fail they tend to introduce noise. I had a walkman doing this, a low end Sony one and I replaced the suspect caps and it was fine.
