Hi. When I enter the battery or hit play the walkman is playing for few seconds then it suddenly runs rewind for short time and then again forward and then stops. No audio in headphones. I started to look for something in the service manual, not sure what it does, but the direction switch is all the way to the right and I think should be in the center, right? Thanks for any tips
Did you happen to just replace the belt or something? I have had this issue before. From what I recall, there is a gear that controls the mode it is in, that need to correspond to the switches, etc. they need to be synced up I believe.
Indeed check that the mode switch is aligned with the mechanism. There is a hole in the PCB where you can align that switch with a pair of tweezers.
