Howdy sir! I was looking for someone to help me repair my Sony Walkman WM-D6C, which has passed down from my father's hands into mine. The speed servo controller chip CX20084 has burnt out, and I have not found a way to replace it, since it is impossible to find online (Everything that came up is from China, of all places. Never trust a chip from china...) Headphone jack is also screwed. (loose traces) Thanks!
Not to poke in but the chips from China- the ones I got were working. I have changed a few at least- they usually burn out due to reverse voltage supplies being plugged in- you can not just plug anything into a unit- the polarity must be right. HP jack if in one piece can be wired and epoxied.
Hi Deb! Every forum on the internet points to you as being the authority on repairing a WM-D6C. I was wondering if you were still available? The issue seems to be the little black rubber ring doesn't make proper contact when Play is engaged, so the tape gets chewed up. I'm worried I've made it worse in trying to correct it myself. I'm also based in the U.K. Cheers, Patrick
Deb64 is an outstanding resource in the UK. There is an adjustment screw setting to allow contact- If the rubber is worn out you can buy a kit from Slovenia that has all that you need. The most difficult part to change is the counter belt at .5mm thick and where it is.
Hello, I saw your collection and it feels really spectacular There are many brand new portable music players available I also really like portable music players Do you have any plans to sell?
hello, I have a wm d6c that i reversed polarity on :( now it smoked. it plays then stops and doesnt ff or rw as it immediately stops and seems very weak too now. any chance of a repair i am in the USA?
I just Purchased a Sony AN-LP1 antenna barely ever used. I thought wow never thought I’d find one with all the Manuals. Only missing the shipping box which I don’t care.
Mister X, Could you have you friend in Japan purchase some Brochures & Manuals for me? I’d give him an Extra $75.00 for his Troubles. They are all on Yahoojapan.com. My bank will not budge on letting me purchase anything from any Asian Countries. They are all for Sony CRF-330K Radio.
He's packing up and leaving soon, it takes a few days to win an auction and to have the stuff shipped to his home which would be after he leaves.

Hello Mister X, I am now a happy owner of the Fisher PH-M77. I saw your comment in a thread about this machine but not sure if you own one? If you have opened/repaired such a Fischer model, I would be grateful if you could help me with some information. Best wishes, V. Kutev
Nice! I open very few pieces of equipment, especially in the summer, just too busy with work and car repair. Search both Fisher and Sanyo, they are the same unit but the reality is, they were pretty rare and expensive when new.
Hy Hyperscope! I read with passion your posts about the sony d35. I received today what was supposed to be a fully working d35 and guess what: it suffers from the infamous vertical/horizontal skipping problem... I know you found a way to change the motor of yours. Would you accept money to help me? I'm afraid I got two left hands... Thanks for your answer! Vincent
I just now see this comment... over a year later :D Well best to add your comment on the D-35 repair work page of mine that you were reading. I don't accept repairs anyway...
