Its probably in the -or not- catagory if there is no aiwa markings on it
there might be a 50hz or 60hz for the belt there on the flywheel
it may have the wrong belt on it, too thick someone replaced it? was it working ok before? cant see the pullies too well

if it is the other side track it would be louder on one side, left right, than the other. sence one head is closer to the track than the other ?...
You may need to use some resistors to reduse the volume before the tape deck The signal might be overloading the preamp reducing the record level...
