Correct the L202 was open circuit I also had the exact same issue with my Sony FH-110W cassette mech too

Checked the Audio board and in particular the inductors for record level and bias level. Found L202 (Right channel bias was open circuit)...

My Sony CFS-9000 plays tapes great but when recording from radio or Aux the right channel is very low and only just hear it with volume up high...

For those who are actually interested, the issue was the alignment of the Fwd capstan motor. The noise is gone after realigning it.
