I bought my little Nikon 1 in Akihabara last year, they still have them. The FH7 seems more popular than the boomboxes, I think it fit a niche nicely, over here the cheap Fisher All-In-Ones were everywhere and the Sony was a very nice upgrade for not much more money. I think you hit the nail on the head, those big classic boomers were just too expensive, you could get a nice component systems for the same price. I used to have the cheaper boxes because they never lasted long, we'd haul them everywhere when skateboarding and they took a lot of abuse.

Oh you mean the one with the re-printed documentation, and the blue tuner film which I'm pretty sure hadn't even been invented yet. And why is the deck sticker below where it's supposed to be, and why have the VU meters faded to yellow if this had been boxed the whole time? And what's with the "JVC Creates the Metal Age", this was used for display with JVC's home tape decks, not the M90. And what's with the blank tape from another era? LOL. This guy is trying to throw in as many JVC-related items and re-printed copies of things, to make it seem more desirable.
