Bolt for bolt the Sampo CM-211 is the Minisette 12.
Only difference is color. Sampo is white, minisette is silver.
I’ve looked at others like JVC and they also had a version. I’ll bet there’s even more with a little poking around.

I can’t say for sure but the JVC looks nearly identical.
I suspect there’s many OEM versions of that Sampo floating around. I’ve seen a few units that looked 98% identical but with a rotary volume instead of the slider, and other minor differences.

 

Here’s the Panasonic RX-1810. I swear this is another version of the Sampo CM-211. If so, it surprises me that Panasonic would outsource a radio back then.
Maybe they thought it wasn’t going to be a high volume seller so they outsourced it. Says a lot about Sampo if Panasonic used them.

Here’s an insanely rare RX-2700C! Similar to the Kenwood CR-50 albeit nicer looking and much better sounding.

 

I thought about doing something on the side but it’s actually a ton of work. Not sure I could recoup my labor. Bonding the vinyl to the wood and prepping it all for the laser is a lot of work in itself. Cutting it correctly requires lower laser power and 6 passes which means actively babysitting the laser during the process.
It was a super fun project despite the time involved.

 

I get it. it’s really hard these days trying to carve out time for projects like this. I try to sneak a few minutes in between the craziness. Helps keep me grounded.
Not sure a CNC would work with the way I prep the panels. The synthetic leather is bonded to the Baltic birch with permanent spray adhesive then placed under a lot of weight to aid w bonding.
It’s a slow cut, but the laser does a great job. I feel like the CNC router would chew up the edges of the vinyl as it’s cutting and possible pull it away from the birch. If you did plain wood panels I think the CNC would work well.
