Hi. Looking through some old stuff, I stumbled across a Denon DCP-100. Comes with power cord, but nothing else. A little research shows I might have something here. Can I get some expert thoughts. Thanks

Welcome to S2G and Congratulations! DCP-100 is the best Discman ever made. Same as The King: Sony D-555 but without ‘bells and whistles’. Sounds fantastic!

Not sure if I'm allowed to ask, so my apologies if it's against the rules, but I'm trying to see what it's worth. It belonged to a co-worker who up and quit in '93 or '93. I tried to contact him to no avail. I brought it home, placed it in a drawer, and found it again today after all these years.

For me it is priceless, was hunting this Baby for years... finally bought a broken one for under $300... you can find my restoration efforts here: Denon. If yours still spinning it is worth $300-500, if dead under $300.
Depends on condition, and your skills of photo-shoot,... as always ;)

As with Technics SL-XP5 (re-branded Panasonic SL-NP3) not many collectors know that DCP-100 sounds as good or better than Sony DZ-555, but since the fad made the call about D-555 and Denon DCP-150 being The Kings, do not expect to get as much for DCP-100 :(

Re. that you have just Discman and power supply: that's all there is needed. Batteries are all Dead by now anyway but can be bought restored from my friend kaosuncd.com, ~$70 each.

Once again, this is one rare and Awesome Discman!!!
