It's official, Bell and Howell had the first Boombox and they trade-marked the name way back in 1970. What are the boombox guys going to do when they find out what a real boombox is?

This is a great discovery Mister X! I always wondered where the term Boombox came from. Until I became active in an international context (thanks to internet) I always knew the machines as radio-cassetterecorders. And the bigger ones as Ghettoblaster. Cool to see where the origin of the term Boombox comes from!

    Yes, Cool!! :)
    Wondering what is AUDIO EYE?

And what drew my attention besides -
already in 1970 they emphasized about Bass Boost, highlighted it,
long before all those gimmicks about bass (XBS, etc., name it) came into play
    and still very much alive...
I can't recall any other ads in early 70s making a point about strong bass..
